Green Beans in the Oven Recipe: Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh green beans
  • 1T. olive oil
  • 1t. sea salt
  • 1/4t. freshly ground pepper 

How to Make Green Beans in the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees. 
  • Wash and trim beans. 
  • Use the 1T. of olive oil to grease a jellyroll pan. 
  • Sprinkle pan with the salt. 
  • Spread beans out on pan, and toss with a spatula.
  • Roast in the oven for 15 minutes.

Green Beans in the Oven: Tips for Success

  • You’ll need a good pan, or your roasted vegetables will scorch. I like this American made, heirloom quality pan (view here)
  • Bacon fat makes a tasty substitute for olive oil. 
  • You can eliminate the fat entirely by adding enough water to the pan to coat the bottom. With this method, add hot water every 5 minutes, as needed, to prevent drying out.
