Sweet Potato Balls Tips for Success

  • Hate rolling sticky foods by hand? Me, too! Use a food scoop to form your sweet potato balls (view here).
  • Great way to use up leftover sweet potatoes.
  • Seasonings from the above ingredient list should be omitted, if your sweet potatoes are already seasoned.
  • In a common variation, a mini marshmallow is tucked into the center of each ball during the rolling stage (so, you would need twice the number of mini marshmallows- 64).
  • What did your Mom use for crumbs? Traditional choices include corn flakes, Rice Krispies, unseasoned breadcrumbs, Panko, and even crumbs made from leftover dinner rolls!
  • Watch them carefully during the last phase of broiling – They singe quickly.
